<p>2018 Excellence Award Winners</p>
</div>The 2018 BFA Excellence Awards ceremony was held on Thursday, April 26, 4:30 p.m in the University Memorial Center. The event recognized 15 different faculty who won awards for their excellence in leadership and service, teaching and pedagogy, research and creative work, as well as a lifetime leadership and service. Opening remarks were given by Provost Moore and BFA Chair Robert Ferry. The keynote speech was given by the 2017 Hazel Barnes Award winner, Tom Cech.
<p dir="ltr">A record number of nominees were received this year in all three categories of awards:</p>
<p dir="ltr">The Excellence in Leadership and Service award recognizes those who have shown outstanding leadership abilities and service to the CU 小蓝视频 community. This year鈥檚 winners were:</p>
<ul dir="ltr">
<li>Arturo Aldama 鈥� Ethnic Studies</li>
<li>James Green 鈥� Astrophysical and Planetary Sciences</li>
<li>Matthew McQueen 鈥� Integrative Physiology</li>
<li>Karen Ramirez 鈥� Miramontes Arts & Sciences Program</li>
</ul>
<p dir="ltr">The Excellence in Teaching and Pedagogy award celebrates faculty who have made significant impacts on student experiences through teaching and mentoring styles. This year鈥檚 winner were:</p>
<ul dir="ltr">
<li>Donna Goldstein 鈥� Anthropology</li>
<li>David Shneer 鈥� Religious Studies/History/Program in Jewish Studies</li>
<li>Katharine Suding 鈥� Ecology and Evolutionary Biology</li>
<li>Kenneth Wright - English</li>
</ul>
<p dir="ltr">Excellence in Research, 小蓝视频ly and Creative Work Award recognizes faculty whose research have been very significant to their department and fellow faculty members. This. Year鈥檚 winners were:</p>

<li>Nichole Barger 鈥� Ecology and Evolutionary Biology</li>
<li>Jeanne Clelland 鈥� Mathematics</li>
<li>Elizabeth Dutro 鈥� School of Education</li>
<li>Andrea Feldman 鈥� Program for Writing and Rhetoric</li>
<li>Marcia Yonemoto - History</li>
</ul>
<p dir="ltr">Along with these three categories, this year the BFA awarded a special Lifetime Leadership and Service Award to William Kaempfer honoring his long-time service and commitment to faculty at CU 小蓝视频.</p>
